Artists On Artists (Not All That Kindly)

We love lists – the goofier the better. We just stumbled on a great list of “Artists on Artists” quotes. As you’ll see, artists dissing other artists has been going on for centuries. The full list can be found here. A few of our favorite quotes:
William Blake on Peter Paul Rubens:
“To my eye Ruben’s coloring is most contemptible. His shadows are of a filthy brown somewhat the color of excrement.”
Titian on Tintoretto:

Edgar Degas on Georges-Pierre Seurat:
